- Try
It Out!
- Try
moving your mouse over the bar.
- Try
clicking and dragging across the buttons.
- Try
clicking on a button, but dragging away before you let
go.
- Just
play around!
- You
will find the bar behaves nicely in all cases. In an
actual site, each button would typically load a different
page or section of your web site.
The
tabbed bar on the left side of this page is another
ActionBar. You used it to get here!
A slick
feature built into ActionBars is the ability to bind your
content pages to a button on the bar by using
"BackHandlers" (provided). When you add BackHandlers to
your pages it doesn't matter how the user arrives on a
page, the ActionBar will always correctly and
automatically select the button associated with that
page.

These
are small, fictional sample sites to give you a flavor of
how ActionBars can be used.
